Sri Lanka Navy assisted in the repatriation of 25 Sri Lankan fishermen and their four fishing trawlers.

The Sri Lankan fishermen along with their fishing boats named “Geeruk”, “Sathsindu”, “Tharushi 4” and “Tejani” were taken over from the Indian Coast Guard Ship “Samudra Paheredar” at the International Maritime Boundary Line off Kankasanthurai by Sri Lanka Naval Vessel Ranawickrama attached to the Northern Naval Command.

Sri Lanka Coast Guard Vessel CG 42 also assisted the mission, SLN said.
